I
am often asked "what is the Codegate feature and why would I need it?
"
CodeGate
is just a fancy name for a special button on the back of the scanner. When the
laser lines up with the barcode you press the button and the scanner zaps just
that single barcode. In contrast the non Codegate version scans the first
barcode it sees.
If
you have ever tried to pick out a single barcode on a sheet of closely printed
codes you will realise just how useful that can be. If you never have to
navigate closely printed multiple barcodes then you may not need Codegate.
Still
unsure if you will ever need Codegate? Well the CodeGate switch can be
disabled. The scanner then acts exactly like the non Codegate version. So the
Codegate version can do both jobs. It's your decision!
